Abstract

In response to the intensifying globalization of agricultural markets and stringent international quality standards, this study analyzes the multidimensional factors influencing the competitiveness of cooperatives and enterprises involved in dragon fruit production and trade. To achieve a comprehensive assessment, the study integrates Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) matrices to construct a unified Internal-External (IE) matrix, thereby determining the current strategic positioning of these competitiveness capacities. This matrix-based method is complemented by Thompson and Strickland’s internal factor assessment model, enabling a detailed analysis and comparison of core competencies and competitive advantages among industry players. These findings aim to provide business managers, cooperative leaders and policymakers with a fresh, holistic perspective on sustainable industry development. Finally, strategic recommendations are proposed to help enterprises optimize resource allocation, refine business strategies and enhance overall adaptability, thereby significantly boosting their capacity to penetrate high value as well as potential export markets.
