This study examines the transformation of the agricultural production–consumption ecosystem in the Mekong Delta under Industry 4.0. Using a qualitative conceptual approach based on systematic thematic analysis of secondary data from FAO, OECD, and World Bank reports, the study identifies how digital technologies (IoT, AI, big data, and digital platforms) reshape both production and consumption processes. The findings highlight three key mechanisms: data integration, digital platforms, and feedback loops, which enable the transition from linear value chains to interactive ecosystems. The study contributes by proposing a differentiated conceptual framework that explicitly integrates governance as a moderating dimension and by refining testable research propositions. However, structural constraints such as infrastructure gaps, digital literacy, and institutional fragmentation limit ecosystem development. The paper provides theoretical and policy implications for sustainable agricultural transformation in developing regions.
