Abstract

Using a mixed-methods approach, this study assesses the impact of digital transformation on the operational efficiency of the food retail supply chain in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This research was conducted using data collected from 136 food retail enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The research results show that digital transformation is becoming a trend and impacting food retail enterprises, posing challenges for competitiveness. Empirical analysis indicates that digital transformation factors, including digital transformation strategy, digital technology investment, digital transformation human resources, product characteristics, supply chain organization, and legal policies, all significantly influence the operational efficiency of the food retail supply chain. Based on the empirical research results, the authors proposed managerial implications and practical solutions to improve the efficiency of the food retail supply chain for food enterprises. This study provides valuable results for food enterprises and managers in developing strategies and policies to promote digital transformation and achieve effective performance.
