Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing the development of green banking practices in commercial banks in Ho Chi Minh City. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from bank employees and analyzed through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and multiple regression analysis. The analysis demonstrates that six factors significantly affect green banking development, including Prospective benefits, Environmental concern, Stakeholder pressure, Green financial product, Banking policy, and Digital banking technology, while Bank reputation is found to be statistically insignificant. Among these, perceived benefits exert the strongest influence. This research adds to the current body of literature by presenting empirical findings in the context of Vietnam, where green banking adoption remains at an early stage. The findings offer practical implications for policy authorities and banking institutions to enhance the effectiveness of green banking strategies and promote sustainable financial development.
